Riffenmatt, Switzerland 18 inches. For one day this tiny ski area is on top of the skiing World! The ski area is located in the Schweizer Mittelland region, and has just one ski lift with only 58 meters (190 feet) of vertical descent. Riffenmatt has 1 kilometers of trails, but their is a half-pipe for snowboarders.The nearest airport is at Bern.
Myrkdalen Mountain Resort, Norway
Myrkdalen Mountain Resort, Norway 13 inches. Most new powder snow AGAIN? Yes, it is. We might be mired in drought here in the Western United States, but clearly maritime Scandinavia is in the flow, as they say. Other resorts in Western Norway got the goods too, including Sauda (12 inches) and Harpefossen (12 inches).
Campo Felice-Rocca di Cambio, Italy
Campo Felice-Rocca di Cambio, Italy 12 inches . The large resort in the Appennini region has 13 lifts (7 Chair lifts, 6 surface lifts) that offers skiers an impressive 700 meters (2296 feet) of vertical descent. Campo Felice-Rocca di Cambio has 19 pistes with a total length of 30 kilometers (19 miles). About one quarter of the pistes at Campo Felice-Rocca di Cambio are covered by snow-making. The nearest airport is Rome and the nearest train station is at L'Aquila.
Champorcher, Italy
Champorcher, Italy 28 inches. In the Aosta Valley region, it is a small ski resort with just 5 ski lifts (1 gondola, 2 chair lifts, 2 surface lift) but it does boast a very impressive 1050 metres (3445 feet) of vertical descent. Champorcher has 13 pistes with a total length of 25 kilometers (16 miles). Cross country ski trails can be found Champorcher. Les Haberes, France
Les Haberes, France 20 inches (or Les Habères). It is a medium sized ski resort with 7 ski lifts (3 chair lifts, 4 surface lifts) that offers skiers 649 metres (2130 feet) of vertical descent. Les Haberes has 25 kilometers (16 miles) of pistes. The nearest airport is at Geneva/Annecy and the nearest train station to Les Haberes is at Annemasse.

Praz de Lys Sommand, France 14 inches. Praz de Lys is a traditional Haute Savoie village, with some famous neighbors. Les Gets and Morzine are just down the road a little way, so a ski holiday in Praz de Lys allows you to explore the local area and to dip into the vast Portes du Soleil network which stretches over into Switzerland.

La Tania, France
La Tania, Les Trois Vallees, France 14 inches. The newest of the "les 3 vallées" resorts, the biggest skiing area in the world. At an altitude of 4600 feet, it is located between Courchevel and Meribel and next to the La Vanoise national park. It was developed for the Albertville Olympics of 1992 and can be reached by road, being about 25 minutes drive from Moutiers.
Disentis, Switzerland
Disentis, Switzerland 24 inches. It is about three hours by train from Zurich, but the more dramatic approach is to fly into Geneva and then take the five-and-a-half-hour train ride on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, which uses the same tracks here as the famed Glacier Express between St. Moritz and Zermatt.

Chiesa Valmalenco, Italy
Chiesa Valmalenco 39 inches in 24 hours and 79 inches in 48 hours! Wow. Most new snow of the season.
Chiesa Valmalenco is an undiscovered gem close to Milan. The skiing starts at 2000 meters with perfect slopes in a wonderful alpine environment. The pistes are perfect for either a beginner or intermediate with some more challenging blacks for the better skier, the 'Wall' being a famous one.. There are 37km of cross-country trails and a specialist boarders' park and half-pipe to keep everyone entertained. Chiesa does offer a wonderfully sedate Alpine environment in a traditional Italian setting. It has excellent mountain restaurants and offers excellent value for money with good value hotel accommodation Overall, it's a great place to learn, and ideal for families and more economical than some of the larger Italian ski resorts with a good snow record and a mountain village scene.
Sirdal, Norway
Sirdal, Norway 16 inches: a traditional ski resort, located in the south west of Norway. It`s altitude (500-1400 meters) combined with modern snow-making systems makes it a reliable ski resort. Normally all ski fields are open by Christmas.
Sirdal has three major ski fields, located only 15 km apart. All togheter you can choose from 15 lift/t-bars and 45 runs. The skifields are spacious, and the opportunities for off piste skiing are many.
If you are into ski touring, Hilleknuten peak (1209 m) is highly recommended.
Harpefossen, Norway

Jolster, Norway
Jolster Ski Center, Norway 14 inches. Located in Jølster, in the middle of Sogn & Fjordane, about 3 hours north of Bergen. Closest airport is located 35 minutes away. They offer four lifts and downhill slopes in various difficulties. Parts of the resort have lights for night skiing, and a top modern snow making system ensures nice conditions throughout the season.
