Here at Free the Powder we spend almost as much time mountain biking as we do skiing. So when designing our MTB gloves we started by testing everyone else’s cycling and general utility gloves. What we noticed was the nearly universal use of rigid materials and unnecessarily complicated stitch patterns that compromised stretch and fit. So, we set out to simplify the mountain bike glove and only use design characteristics that maximize the performance of the glove for mountain biking:
Use of stretchy material across the entire back of the hand with as few stitch lines as possible for best possible fit on the widest range of hand shapes.
Use of synthetic leather on the palm, cut in one piece, to minimize seams that cause blisters.
Grip silicone on the palm, index and middle fingers for precise grip on the handlebars and brake levers.
We make the wrist opening wider to make our gloves easier to put on and take off.
